Though the weekend’s nearly over, here’s a glimpse at my goals and progress.
Right now I’m focusing on Rush and Ripple, the first two in the Seaside Valleria series. I’ve finished edits for both and now it’s time to test the ebooks and finalize them! I want to release BOTH this month (eep!) but I think I might push Ripple into July. Let me see how testing goes and if there are any hiccups. I already tested Rush once and found some formatting and grammar issues; I corrected those and now it’s time to test again. Because Rush is my longest book to-date (over 90,000 words!) testing can take significant time.
Ebook testing (at least for me), isn’t just going through the ebook on different devices to check for formatting issues, I also go back and read the book again to make sure I’m happy with the final result. Sometimes I’ll tweak the language, sometimes I need to do more substantial editing…it all depends. I work really hard to make each book great, and since this is a new series I think I’m trying even harder. Maybe I’m overthinking things (knowing me, I probably am), but I’d like this new series to be a success. I write for myself (I learned a long time ago that writing books others wanted but that I didn’t like as much, never works out), but I really hope you’ll love them, too. I’ve put a lot of my heart and soul into these books. Sometimes it’s scary when you put yourself out there like this, but writing makes me so happy, and that makes me less scared.
How about you? What are your plans this weekend? Comment on this post and let me know (if you’re receiving the blog by email, just click “Read More” to navigate to the blog page to comment).

I’m really looking forward to reading your new series. I really liked the small glimpse we got of it in Lorenzo’s book 🙂
Thanks, Caroline! ~Marianne
